Reposado Tequila
How Hornitos Reposado Tequila Is Made
Reposado means “rested,” and that rest is where our premium Reposado tequila gets its smooth, slightly woody edge. Crafted with 100% blue agave grown and harvested in Jalisco, Mexico, Hornitos Reposado starts with agave that is cooked, crushed and fermented before being double distilled for a smooth, vibrant tequila with bold agave character. After distillation, Reposado is rested in American white oak casks to bring out body, balance and added depth without losing the bright agave spirit at its core. The result is a smooth reposado tequila with the apple, herbal and slightly woody notes.
Think of it as the bold middle ground in the Hornitos range: smoother and more rounded than Plata tequila, but brighter and more agave-forward than Añejo tequila. That balance makes it a go-to choice for reposado tequila cocktails that need depth without getting too heavy.

Añejo Tequila
We age our Añejo in white oak barrels for at least a year, so it has a smoother, more complex flavor and a distinctive amber color.
Añejo Reserve Tequila
100% agave tequila triple-aged in American oak barrels for rich layers of smoky vanilla, buttery caramel, and whiskey-like depth.
How to Drink Our Reposado Tequila 100% Blue Agave
Hornitos® Reposado tequila is built for whatever kind of night you’re pouring. For sipping, serve it neat in a rocks glass at room temperature or slightly chilled, or pour it over one large cube for a slower, smoother serve. A lime wedge or orange twist keeps things fresh without covering up the agave, apple and herbal notes.
For cocktails, Reposado brings just enough oak and body to stand up to bold tequila mixers while keeping the drink bright. It works effortlessly in tequila mules, where ginger beer and lime play off its smooth, slightly woody character, but margaritas are where our mexican Reposado tequila really shows up. A Reposado Margarita keeps it simple: shake 2 parts (oz) Hornitos Reposado, 1 part (oz) fresh lime juice and 1/2 part (½ oz) agave syrup with ice, then strain into a salt-rimmed rocks glass over fresh ice and garnish with lime. It makes one drink in 1–3 minutes, and the Reposado works because its smooth character gives the lime and agave more depth without overcomplicating the classic.
When the plan gets bigger, the Margarita Pitcher recipe brings the same reposado margarita energy to the whole crew. Combine 750 ml Hornitos Reposado, 16 parts (oz) fresh lime juice, 8 parts (oz) agave syrup and 16 parts (oz) water in a large ice-filled pitcher, then stir and serve in lime-garnished glasses with an optional salt rim. It’s the same bold, citrusy Reposado Margarita flavor, built for passing around, topping up and keeping those “one more round” moments going.

Reposado and Añejo are both aged tequilas, but Añejo spends more time in oak. Reposado is typically brighter and more versatile, while Añejo is generally richer, deeper and more oak-driven.
